Interim Pastor

My name is John Burghauser. I have been a Christian since 1996 when, after a long bout with drug and alcohol addiction, The Lord humbled me and saved me!

My wife (Peggy) and I began attending White Marsh Baptist and we were involved with many Bible studies and small groups. One of those groups was a recovery group where we met a man from Northern Ireland named Tom Eakins, who mentioned that he worked with a group called The Stauros Foundation. They work with individuals suffering with various addictions, on a one-to-one, and also provide help for their families.

After several years of growing in Christ, and as we got to know Tom, my wife and I felt a call from God to step into full-time ministry. In 2000 we made our first trip to Northern Ireland; and in that same year we began a Stauros meeting in our home. In 2003 I left my employment in the construction industry and began working along with Stauros Ministries – the U.S. sister organization of The Stauros Foundation. In 2003 I was also ordained into Gospel ministry at my home church and have continued serving there to this very day!

In 2010 our Stauros group was invited to lead a Sunday night service at (then) North Point BC once per month. We continued that until such time as the PM services were discontinued. In December 2019 I was asked to serve as ‘interim pulpit-fill’ at NPBC and continued serving in that capacity until the arrival of Pastor John Argo.

It has been a privilege to get to know all the folk at (now) Creekside Community Church, as we look forward to helping, in any way we are able, during this time of transition.
