Our Beliefs

Welcome to Creekside Church, where our beliefs are rooted in the timeless wisdom of Scripture. We believe that the Bible, divinely inspired by God, serves as His revelation to mankind. It is the ultimate authority on God’s truth and provides guidance for our daily lives. As the Body of Christ, our purpose is to glorify, love, and worship God, while sharing His truth with the world. Through baptism, we follow the example set by Jesus, symbolizing our heart transformation in Him. We believe that humanity, made in the image of God, is capable of a restored relationship with Him through faith in Jesus and repentance from sin. Join us at Creekside Church, where we strive to build a community centered on love, faith, and the teachings of Christ.

We believe there is only one living God. He is personal, active, and intelligent. He is Creator, Lord of All, Savior, and the Preserver of Life. He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere present at once. He is perfect, holy, loving and true in all things. He exists in three persons as one God; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God

God the Father

He is spirit, and is seated on the throne of heaven, the only true God, guider and controller of the universe, and is bringing His kingdom. When the Son addresses Him, Jesus calls Him Father. Jesus points to the Father. The Father is co-equal with the Son and the Holy Spirit, to whom all things submit. The Spirit points to the Son, and the Son points to the Father.

God the Son is Jesus. He is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He became flesh through immaculate birth through Mary, identifying with mankind in every way. Occupying human flesh allowed Him to sacrifice Himself for our sins. He chose to die and suffer the penalty all mankind deserves for our sins, death and Hell. Jesus lived a perfect life, sin-free. With His death, Jesus satisfied God’s wrath and punishment against sin, enabling anyone to be free through repentance from sin, and turning to Jesus as Lord and Savior in the individual’s life. After three days in the grave, God the Father raised Jesus from the dead, conquering death and promising His followers that we too, will rise to be with Him. Again, God the Father, and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are One.

God the Son

God the Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit is a co-equal part of the Trinity, and He is fully divine. He inspired the writers of the bible to pen the Lord’s message to mankind. He points to Jesus and draws men to the Savior by convicting them of sin, showing them the truth of the Gospel, and indwelling men after they accept Jesus as Savior. The Spirit gifts the believers for the work of the Body of Christ. He seals, teaches, protects, and empowers believers.

Salvation

Baptism

God the Holy Spirit is a co-equal part of the Trinity, and He is fully divine. He inspired the writers of the bible to pen the Lord’s message to mankind. We believe the church is the Body of Christ, made up of believers in Jesus Christ as Lord of all, and His completed work for the salvation and redemption of all mankind. The Church’s purpose is to glorify, love, and worship God, while sharing His truth with the lost world. The Church participates in Christ’s ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and works together with spiritual gifts and abilities that Jesus gives each believer at salvation. These gifts are spiritual and for the building up of the Body of Christ.

The Church

The Christian Life

We believe that genuine followers of Christ go through a renewal/discipling process all through life by living in daily obedience and devotion to Jesus Christ. The believer, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, transforms as the heart and mind seek and are renewed by Jesus, hear from God, and see life and the world through the spiritual perspective that God gives.

Jesus will return in glory, visibly and bodily to earth and will establish His kingdom. He will conquer all rebellion and bring peace to all. Then He will bring time to a close, with the lost facing eternal suffering in Hell and the followers of Jesus living with Him in eternal paradise of glory and celebration.

The Future

We also affirm the Baptist Faith and Message (2001) of the SBC.
